If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please leave the site and do not use our content or services.

You must meet the minimum age requirement to use Diabic. If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you must be at least 16 years old. Medical disclaimer

Read this before relying on anything on Diabic.
The content on diabic.com is published for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not intended to replace consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. Nothing on this site constitutes the practice of medicine, nursing, dietetics, pharmacy, or any other licensed healthcare service.
Do not use Diabic for diagnosis or treatment. Always seek the advice of a licensed physician, registered dietitian, certified diabetes care and education specialist, or another qualified healthcare provider with any question you have about your health, medication, diet, exercise, or diabetes management.
Diabetes is individual. What is appropriate for one person can be harmful to another. Your medications, comorbidities, allergies, pregnancy status, age, and other factors all change what is safe for you.
No professional relationship is formed. Reading our content, commenting on it, sharing it, or contacting us does not create a doctor–patient, dietitian–patient, or any other professional relationship.
Emergencies. If you think you are experiencing a medical emergency, including severe hypoglycemia, diabetic ketoacidosis, chest pain, stroke symptoms, or any acute event, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department immediately. Do not rely on this site.
No warranty of medical accuracy. We research and review content carefully and cite reputable sources, but medical knowledge evolves and human error is possible. We make no warranty that any information on the site is accurate, current, complete, or appropriate for your individual situation.
Your use of any information on diabic.com is at your own risk.

Editorial and review process

Every article published on Diabic goes through a structured research and review process before it appears on the site. Content is sourced from authoritative, peer-reviewed, and clinically recognized publications and is reviewed by qualified contributors prior to publication. To see contributor credentials and meet the full editorial team, visit About or read the author bio attached to each post.

We routinely draw on the following sources: the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK / NIH), the Mayo Clinic, the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and PubMed-indexed peer-reviewed journals. Full citations, including links to primary sources, appear at the end of each article so you can verify what we say.

Every article displays a Last reviewed date near the top of the page. High-impact medical content, articles covering medications, treatment protocols, blood-glucose targets, and other clinically sensitive topics, is re-reviewed at least annually by a qualified contributor. When new clinical guidance is issued by a major health authority, we prioritize updating affected articles promptly rather than waiting for the scheduled review cycle.

Where a contributor or reviewer has a financial relationship, sponsorship, or any other interest that could reasonably influence how a topic is presented, that conflict of interest is disclosed on the article itself, adjacent to the contributor's name or in a dedicated disclosure section.

We take accuracy seriously, and we know we are not perfect. Reader feedback plays an important role in keeping our content correct and current. If you spot an error, outdated information, or a broken citation, the process for flagging it is described in the Corrections and updates policy section below.

AI content transparency

We use AI in narrow, disclosed ways. We do not use AI to generate medical advice.

  • Infographics and illustrations. We use Google Gemini to generate diagrams and explanatory illustrations. Every AI-generated image is reviewed by a human for medical accuracy and visual clarity before publishing. AI-generated images are labeled in their captions.
  • Hero and featured images. Most hero and featured images are licensed stock photography or original photography. On rare occasions we use Google Gemini to generate a hero image; those images are also labeled.
  • Article text. All article text, including explanations, recipes, recommendations, and citations, is written, edited, and reviewed by humans. We do not use AI to draft medical claims or recommendations.
  • Your data and AI. We do not feed your messages, analytics data, or any personal information into AI or machine-learning training systems.

If you believe an AI-generated image on Diabic is medically misleading or misattributed, please report it to diabic@mindantic.com.

Content credits and attributions

Diabic draws on several categories of third-party assets to illustrate its educational content. This section describes where those assets come from and how we handle attribution.

Icons. Icons used across the site are sourced from Flaticon under a Flaticon Premium license. The Premium license does not require per-asset attribution in the design, but we acknowledge that license here categorically and maintain records of usage.

Photography. Photographs come from two sources: Pexels (published under the Pexels License) and Pixabay (published under the Pixabay Content License). Both licenses allow free use for commercial and editorial purposes without mandatory attribution. Where individual photographers or contributors have requested credit, we provide it in the image caption or adjacent metadata.

AI-generated imagery. On the occasions we publish an image created with Google Gemini, the caption explicitly identifies the image as AI-generated. See the AI content transparency section for our full policy on how and where we use AI.

Medical and reference sources. Every article cites the specific studies, guidelines, and clinical publications it draws on. Citations appear at the foot of the article as linked references so you can verify the source material directly.

Reporting a credit error. If you spot a misattribution, an omitted credit, or any other error in how we have credited an asset, please let us know at diabic@mindantic.com with the page URL and a brief description of the issue. We will investigate and correct verified errors promptly.

If you are a rights-holder and believe an asset on Diabic is used outside its license, contact diabic@mindantic.com with the URL, the asset, and proof of rights. We resolve verified claims within 7 business days.

Corrections and updates policy

We are committed to publishing accurate, current information about diabetes management and related topics. When errors occur, we want to fix them quickly and transparently.

How to report an error. Use /contact to send us the URL of the page, the specific claim you believe is incorrect, and, if you have one, a source or reference that supports the correction. For serious medical concerns, such as a recommendation you believe could cause harm, email diabic@mindantic.com directly so the message reaches our editorial team without delay.

How we triage corrections. Medical corrections, claims that could affect a reader's health decisions, are prioritized above typographical or formatting issues. When we receive a report, we assess it against the cited source and, if the concern relates to clinical content, route it to a qualified reviewer. Verified corrections are published within 7 business days of confirmation.

How we document changes. Once a correction is published, we update the Last reviewed date on the article and add an "Updates" note at the bottom of the article. That note describes what changed and when, so returning readers can see exactly what was revised and why.

Intellectual property

Our original content. Original articles, recipe headnotes, original photography, infographic concepts, illustrations, audio, and video published on diabic.com are © Mindantic LLC, all rights reserved, unless a specific license is stated on the individual asset. No reproduction, distribution, or derivative use is permitted without our prior written consent.

Third-party assets. Certain assets on the site, including icons, stock photography, and AI-generated images, remain the property of their respective licensors. Flaticon icons are used under a Flaticon Premium license. Photographs sourced from Pexels and Pixabay are used under their respective free content licenses. AI-generated images created with Google Gemini are subject to Google's applicable terms. Cited third-party publishers retain rights in their own works.

Recipes. Under US copyright law, a bare list of ingredients and unadorned instructions is not copyrightable. However, our original recipe headnotes, introductory text, original photography, creative formatting, and overall expressive presentation are protected by copyright and belong to Mindantic LLC.

Trademarks. "Diabic" and the Diabic logo are trademarks of Mindantic LLC. All other product names, company names, and marks referenced on the site belong to their respective owners. Nothing on the site grants you any right to use our trademarks without prior written permission.

License to you. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to view and personally use this site for non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. This license does not include any right to reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit any content.

User-submitted content

Pending mobile app launch or community features. Until the Diabic mobile app launches or reader comments and accounts are enabled on the website, we accept no public submissions other than messages to /contact, which are governed by the Privacy Policy.

When user submissions are enabled, the following terms apply to anything you submit, including comments, questions, recipe adaptations, or other contributions.

License you grant us. By submitting content, you grant Mindantic LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, display, reproduce, modify (solely for moderation or formatting purposes), and distribute your submission in connection with operating and promoting the site. You retain ownership of your content.

Your warranties. You confirm that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, defame any person, or contain malware or harmful code. If your submission includes medical information presented as professional advice, you warrant that you are a licensed healthcare professional and that you accurately identify yourself as such in your submission.

Removal. We may remove or decline to publish any submission that is harmful, off-topic, spam, illegal, infringing, or contains unverified medical claims presented as established fact. We have sole discretion in these decisions and are not obligated to host any submission.

Disclaimer. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or safety of user-submitted content. Other users' contributions are not reviewed as clinical advice and do not represent our recommendations. Rely on them accordingly.

Affiliate disclosure

Diabic currently has no active affiliate or referral relationships with any brand, retailer, or product manufacturer. We earn no commissions and hold no financial relationships of this kind today.

That may change. If in the future we recommend products relevant to diabetes-friendly living, such as blood-glucose monitors, foods, kitchen equipment, or apps, some recommendations may include affiliate links. When you follow an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

We will follow FTC guidance under 16 CFR Part 255. Whenever an affiliate relationship exists, we will disclose it clearly on the page where it appears, in close proximity to the recommendation itself. We will never bury a disclosure in a footer or link to it only from a separate page.

Our editorial independence is non-negotiable. We will not recommend any product or service we would not recommend in the absence of compensation. We will never allow an affiliate arrangement to influence the medical accuracy or completeness of our content. Compensation does not determine what we review, how we score it, or what conclusions we reach.

If you have questions about our commercial relationships, contact us at diabic@mindantic.com.

The site may contain links to external websites and may embed content from third-party services, for example, educational videos, clinical-reference resources, or social-media posts. We include these where they add genuine value for readers learning about diabetes management.

We do not control those external services and we are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. A link or embed does not mean we endorse the linked service, its products, or the views expressed there. Your use of any third-party service is governed solely by that service's own terms of use and privacy policy. We encourage you to review those documents before sharing personal information with any third party.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar browser-storage technologies to keep the site working correctly and to understand how readers use it. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or serve behaviorally targeted ads.

For a full description of the categories of cookies we use, the specific services that set them, and the controls available to you, see Privacy Policy, Cookies and similar technologies.

Disclaimer of warranties

The site and all content on it are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mindantic LLC disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, uninterrupted availability, freedom from errors, and freedom from viruses or other harmful components.
In particular, we make no warranty that any information on diabic.com is medically accurate, complete, current, or appropriate for your individual case. See the Medical disclaimer above.
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusions of implied warranties. In those jurisdictions the exclusions above apply only to the extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Mindantic LLC, its members, officers, employees, contractors, contributors, agents, suppliers, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including without limitation damages for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity, health outcomes, or substitute services, even if Mindantic LLC has been advised of the possibility of such damages and even if a stated remedy fails of its essential purpose.
Our aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or relating to your use of diabic.com or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) US $100 or (b) the amount you paid to Mindantic LLC in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages (including death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation). In those jurisdictions the exclusions and limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Mindantic LLC and its members, officers, employees, contractors, contributors, agents, and licensors from any claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in connection with: (a) your misuse of diabic.com or any content or feature on it; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property rights or privacy rights; or (d) any content or material you submit to the site.

This obligation survives the termination of your access to the site and these Terms. We reserve the right to assume exclusive control of any matter subject to indemnification, and you agree to cooperate with our defense of any such claim. You will not settle any claim without our prior written consent.

We respect intellectual property rights and respond to valid notices of claimed copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).

Designated agent. To submit a takedown notice, contact our DMCA Agent: Mindantic LLC, Attention: DMCA Agent, 117 S Lexington St, Ste 100, Harrisonville, MO 64701, United States, email diabic@mindantic.com.

Notice requirements. A valid DMCA notice must include: (1) a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf; (2) identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed; (3) identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail (including a URL) for us to locate it; (4) your contact information, including name, address, telephone number, and email address; (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and (6) a statement made under penalty of perjury that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

Counter-notice. If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice. A valid counter-notice must include the elements required under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3): your signature, identification of the removed material and its prior location, a statement under penalty of perjury that the material was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address.

Repeat infringers. We will terminate the accounts and access of users who are determined to be repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Missouri, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

Jurisdiction. You and Mindantic LLC agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Missouri for the resolution of any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the site. You consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts and waive any objection to venue or inconvenient forum.

Class action waiver. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, all claims must be brought in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. You expressly waive any right to bring claims as part of such a proceeding.

Limitations period. Any claim or cause of action arising out of or relating to your use of the site or these Terms must be filed within one (1) year of the date the claim arose. Claims not filed within that period are permanently barred, to the extent local law permits a shortened limitations period.

Consumer rights. Nothing in this section is intended to limit any mandatory rights you have under the law of your country of residence, including rights afforded to consumers in the European Union or the United Kingdom.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The most recent change date always appears at the top of this page under "Last reviewed." Minor changes, such as clarifying existing language or correcting typographical errors, take effect immediately upon posting.

Material changes, including new commercial terms, new prohibitions, or new dispute-resolution mechanisms, are different. We will post a prominent notice at the top of diabic.com for 30 days before the change takes effect. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will also email you a summary of what changed and when the new Terms apply.

Your continued use of the site after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree with any change, please stop using the site before the effective date of the update.

General provisions

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible. All remaining provisions continue in full force and effect without interruption.

Entire agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Mindantic LLC concerning your use of diabic.com. They supersede any prior agreements, representations, warranties, or understandings, whether written or oral, between you and Mindantic LLC on the same subject matter. No promise or representation not contained in these documents is binding on us.

Waiver

Our failure or delay in enforcing any right or provision of these Terms does not waive our right to enforce it later. A waiver of any particular breach does not constitute a waiver of any subsequent breach of the same or any other provision. No waiver is effective unless made in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Mindantic LLC.

Assignment

You may not assign, transfer, sublicense, or delegate any of your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. Any purported assignment without consent is void. Mindantic LLC may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets. We will provide reasonable notice to you of any such assignment.

No agency or partnership

Nothing in these Terms creates, or should be construed to create, an agency, partnership, joint venture, franchise, employment, or fiduciary relationship between you and Mindantic LLC. You have no authority to bind Mindantic LLC in any way, and we have no authority to bind you beyond the obligations described in these Terms.

Mobile app terms

Pending mobile app launch. Until the Diabic mobile app is publicly available, this section is reserved.

The following terms apply to the Diabic mobile application ("App") when it becomes publicly available. They supplement, and do not replace, the rest of these Terms.

License to use the App. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download, install, and use the App on a device you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not sublicense, sell, rent, lease, or distribute the App. This license terminates automatically if you violate any provision of these Terms.

Apple App Store. If you download the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that: (a) these Terms are between you and Mindantic LLC only, not Apple Inc.; (b) Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance, support, warranty, or product-liability services for the App; (c) Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you; (d) any claim related to the App's failure to conform to applicable warranties may be addressed to Apple per Apple's then-current App Store terms; and (e) you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or on any US government list of prohibited parties. This paragraph must be reviewed and finalised against Apple's current App Store Review Guidelines at the time of submission.

Google Play. If you download the App from the Google Play Store, you agree to comply with the Google Play Developer Distribution Agreement and Developer Program Policies in addition to these Terms. In the event of a conflict between Google's policies and these Terms, Google's policies govern with respect to the distribution and installation of the App.

In-app purchases. If the App offers in-app purchases, those transactions are processed entirely by the applicable store (Apple App Store or Google Play). Mindantic LLC does not process payment information directly for in-app purchases. Refunds and billing disputes are governed by the store's own terms.

Push notifications. The App may request permission to send you push notifications about new articles, blood-glucose tips, and other content. You can manage or revoke this permission at any time in your device's operating-system settings or within the App's notification preferences. Disabling notifications does not affect your access to core App features.

App-store reviews. Reviews, ratings, and questions submitted through the Apple App Store or Google Play are governed by the respective store's policies. Mindantic LLC is not responsible for the content of store reviews and cannot edit or remove them on your behalf.

Frequently asked questions

Can I share Diabic articles on social media?

Yes, we actively encourage you to share our content. When sharing, please include a clear attribution to Diabic and a direct link back to the original article. Quoting up to one paragraph for commentary or discussion is fine. Please do not republish full articles or substantial portions of them on other platforms, websites, or newsletters, whether commercial or not, without our prior written consent. If you are unsure whether a use is permitted, contact us through /contact before publishing.

Are your recipes copyrighted?

Under US copyright law, a bare list of ingredients and unadorned cooking steps cannot be copyrighted, because raw facts and procedures are not protectable expression. That said, our original recipe headnotes, introductory narratives, creative formatting, original photography, and any other expressive content we produce around a recipe are protected by copyright and belong to Mindantic LLC. Personal use, cooking the recipe, printing it for yourself, sharing the link, is always fine. If you want to reuse our original written expression or photography for commercial purposes, please write to diabic@mindantic.com for permission first.

Why do you exclude medical advice?

We exclude medical advice because we are publishers, not licensed clinicians, and because diabetes care is deeply individual. The right carbohydrate target, medication dose, exercise routine, or dietary approach for one person can be inappropriate, or even harmful, for another. Those decisions depend on your laboratory values, comorbidities, medications, age, lifestyle, and many other factors that only a qualified healthcare provider can assess for you. We research and fact-check our content carefully and cite reputable sources, but our content is no substitute for a conversation with your care team. See the Medical disclaimer at the top of these Terms.

How do I report an error?

For everyday corrections, a broken link, an outdated statistic, a typographical error, please use /contact and tell us the URL of the page, the specific claim you believe is incorrect, and any source that supports the correction. For serious medical concerns, a recommendation you believe could cause direct harm to a reader, email diabic@mindantic.com directly so your message reaches our editorial team without delay. We triage and acknowledge all reports; medically significant corrections are prioritized and published within 7 business days of confirmation. See the Corrections and updates policy for the full process.

Do you allow AI tools to train on your content?

No. Scraping, crawling, or using any content from diabic.com to train, fine-tune, or otherwise build AI or machine-learning models is not permitted without prior written permission from Mindantic LLC. This applies whether you are an individual researcher, a commercial AI developer, or any other party. See Prohibited use for the full list of activities we prohibit. That said, we are open to authorized data partnerships with organizations whose goals align with improving diabetes education and care. If you represent such an organization and want to explore a formal arrangement, write to diabic@mindantic.com.
